University of Farmington coach; one of pioneers of Maine women basketball. Stella was instrumental in bringing women’s intercollegiate sports to Maine. She also was one of the moving forces behind the MPA establishing the State Championship for women’s basketball. She was a graduate of New Gloucester High School in 1950; a prolific scorer on the hardwood, she was a 2000- point scorer in high school.
