An outstanding all-around athlete, and member of the inaugural Schenck High School Hall of Fame, Fiske went on to an excellent career at Southern Connecticut State University, scoring 1,250 points. After graduating from SCSC (now Southern Connecticut State University), Bill coached/taught in the Hollywood, Florida school system from 1969-1981, coaching at McNichol Junior High and Hallandale High School. His overall record was 275-39! This outstanding record was brought to the attention of Kittie Blakemore who was instrumental in starting the women’s basketball program at WVU. She was looking for an assistant to help spark her program and “recruited” Bill to WVU. He was promoted to co-head coach after being there for 2.5 years. He continued in that position until blindness side-lined him. From 1981-1986, Bill and Kittie’s record was 86-62.
