This Milo High School graduate averaged 36 points per game his senior year in 1968, as he finished high school with over 1000 points. After high school, Peter attended Ricker College in Houlton where he scored 2000 points and was named to the All-Maine College team four consecutive years. His senior season saw Peter average over 24 points and 10 rebounds a game; a full season of double doubles.
